Anushka
Anushka Shetty was born in Mangalore, Karnataka on the 7th November 1980.When she was born she was named Sweety Shetty. Anushka Shetty’s mother tongue is Tulu. She also speaks Tamil, Hindi and Telugu fluently. She completed her studies from the Mount Carmel College. She has completed her graduation in Computer Applications from the same college. She also knows yoga and she has learned yoga from the yoga master Bharat Thakur she has also been a yoga instructor.
She appeared for the first time on cinema in 2005 in the movie ‘Super’ directed by Poori Jagannadh opposite actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and Sonu Sood where she played the role of Sasha. After that she acted in the movie ‘Mahanandi’ which did not work at the box office. Later on, in the year 2006, she had 4 releases which were very successful. The movie’ Vikramarkudu’ directed by S. S. Rajamouli’s, this movie was successful in Andhra Pradesh, the actor was Raviteja.
She was then signed for the remake of the Hindi Blockbuster remake, which was originally known as ‘Sarfarosh’, renamed as Astram. Then she made her debut in Tamil cinema in the movie Rendu directed by Sundar C along with actor was R. Madhavan. At the end of the year, she made a special appearance in Stalin; the movie was directorial debut of A. R. Murugadoss.
In 2007 she acted in the movie Lakshyam and then in Don directed by Raghava Lawrence opposite Nagarjuna. This movie was appreciated and did good business in box office. Later on, in the year 2008, she appeared in six movies. The first movie was ‘Okka Magaadu’, in this movie she was one of the three leading ladies. After this her releases were Swagatam directed by Dasaradh with actors Bhoomika Chawla, Jagapati Babu and Arjun Sarja. Then ‘Baladur’ presented by Uday Shankar with actors Superstar Krishna, Ravi Teja and many more. Then she acted on ‘Souryam’ with actor ‘Gopichand’ which again resulted in a box office super hit.
In the year 2009, she kicked off with the movie ‘Arundhati’. The film was a fantasy film with high quality animation. The movie was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. The film was released on 16th January 2009. She received the special jury award for this movie. In this film she played the role of Arundhati. This movie revolves around good and evil. This movie gave Anushka Shetty a new platform to renew herself as a sophisticated actress in South film industry. She acts as Jejamma in the movie. The movie was appreciated all over the industry. She ended the year with Tamil film ‘Vettaikkaran’ opposite actor Vijay. She played different role in the movie. For this movie she received the awarded of Favorite heroine by Vijay Award.
Her forthcoming releases are Takita Takita, Kaleja, Nagavalli, Kanchana and Vada Chennai. All these movies are in Telugu except Vada Chennai this film is in Tamil. She loves to travel and learn new things. She is talented and aggressive actress in South film industry.
