Sneha is a popular Tamil film actor. She was born on 12 October 1981 as Suhasini Rajaram Naidu. She has been a part of several Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam films. Her debut film was Ingane Oru Nilapakshi in Malayalam in 2001. Her Tamil film Aanandham got her, her first commercial success.

She was born in a Telugu family to Rajaram Naidu and Padmavathy Naidu in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She did her schooling in Dubai and settled in Panruti, Tamil Nadu. Sneha has two brothers and a sister who is a fashion designer.

Priyamaina Neeku, her first Telugu film went on to become a blockbuster. Sneha has bagged one Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 2002 film Unnia Ninaith. She has been nominated for a Filmfare Best Actress Award twice. Sneha received the best actress award for Tamil Nadu State Film Award for her performances in Virumbugiren, Punnagai Desam, Aanandham and Pirivom Santhippom.

Her film career began in 2001 that gave her a major breakthrough with the Tamil film Ennavale by the end of the year. She starred opposite Madhavan. Her appearances in two notable Telugu films gave a good finish to that year. In 2002, Sneha starred in eight films with the Telugu film, Hanuman Junction, coming out as a major hit. Her career graph saw other hits in the form of Unnai Ninaithu and April Madhathil. She had starred opposite some of the best actors of the southern film industry including southern superstar Vikram and ‘Ulagai Nadigai’ (Universal Hero) Kamal Hassan. After her successful year of 2002, she got choosey with her films in 2003, working in only two films that year. One was opposite Vijay in Vaseegara and the other was opposite Srikant, Parthiban Kanavu, in which she played a double role. The film was a commercial hit and Sneha’s performance was applauded. She was praised by the audience and was seen as a modern day version of Revathi Menon.

The year 2004 saw a mix reaction at the box office for the actor. Her films Jana, Bose, Venky and Adhu, which was a horror film, failed at the box-office. Her film opposite Kamal Hassan, Vasool Raja MBBS, a remake of Hindi film- Munnabhai MBBS, was a blockbuster. Another of her film, Autograph, directed, produced, written and lead role played by Cheran, won her a critical acclamation. With a cameo role in ‘Kuselan’ opposite Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth, Sneha accomplished her fiftieth film.

Sneha had refused to take up glamorous roles in any of her movies, as the south audience loved her homely roles. After Chinna, she has taken up to working on her glamorous appearance.

The success of Sri Ramadasu, a mythological movie directed by K Ragavendra Rao in 2006 gave a thumps up to Sneha in the Telugu Cinema Industry. Her Mollywood movie, Thuruppugulan, opposite Mammootty in the same year, turned out to be a huge hit. She played a battered and bruised sex worker in Pudhupettai and flawlessly performed the role of a village teacher in Thankar Bachan’s Pallikoodam.
